Indonesian, aka Bahasa Indonesia, an Austronesian language, is the official language of Indonesia. Around 300 million people speak this language between native and second language speakers. As there are so many speakers, Indonesian is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Due to the geographic location of Indonesian, the language's vocabulary has been affected by Javanese, Bujinese, Banjarese, Arabic, Dutch, and English. Additionally, most Indonesians speak one of the 700+ indigenous local languages alongside Indonesian.

The Indonesian Harry Potter books were published by Kompas Gramedia Group and translated by Listiana Srisanti. The books were published in both hard and softcovers, with the first editions featuring the ubiquitous Mary GrandPre cover art. The quality both hard and softcover editions is overall very terrible, with the paper quickly oxidizing. The boards bend fairly easily, and the softcover wraps are also not very sturdy; overall, these books were just not made well.

The Mary GrandPre editions of these translations are becoming hard to find, somewhat because demand is increasing from within the collector market but also because they re being thrown away as they, again, are not well made, and are being discarded by owners.

Newer editions exist which actually feature unique cover art; the spine art also forms together to make 1 image when all 7 books are lined up; At this time, I only have books 1-3 in this cover, but I do intend to complete this set.
